How It All Began

Professional Collection Services (PCS) came into fruition back in 1996 from the desire for change and an alternative solution to traditional collection practices. From humble beginnings in a small office in St Lucia, our debt collection agency has grown to incorporate all facets of the debt collection process and has representation across the country.


After finding success in the Brisbane market; Melbourne, Sydney and Perth soon followed. As the reach grew and the company expanded further, so did the need for greater control over the processes. Internal departments were established and now a complete service is offered to our clients, irrespective of the collection requirements.  

As debt collectors, we have helped thousands of businesses in successfully recovering bad debt and restoring cash flow. The key to our success has largely been our focus on delivering a personalised and affordable debt collection service, seeing it through from start to finish. 

Unlike some debt collection agencies in the market, we cater to all levels of outstanding debt and cover a broad range of businesses across all industries, from individuals and small business to major corporations, regardless of the amount and complexity of debt.

We value our client relationships and endeavour to make every debt collection as positive as possible. Through our time honoured systems and highly trained professional staff, the burden of debt collection is entirely eliminated. As an extension of our services, we offer legal assistance, process serving and attendance at enforced hearings for clients.

Meet The Team


Steve Braithwaite
Senior Manager

Steve has been with us for the past 20 years, he has had many dealings with complex insolvency issues for insolvency practitioners and on behalf of banks.  Amongst his many accomplishments, Steve has a Rich history in Real Estate, has Co-founded a National debt collection agency and Law firm, but it’s his family values that have helped to promote the team mentality amongst the staff at PCS.


Brett Braithwaite
Chief Financial Officer

Brett is our Finance Manager and on top of the experience gained at PCS, he has had prior experience in the insurance industry and is currently undergoing his law degree. This varied knowledge has been fundamental in Brett’s role in keeping the company current and competitive.

Brendan Towers
Director & National Sales Manager

Having worked as a sales professional since 1987, Brendan has experience in a myriad of industries. The knowledge he has gained from his many years in sales has helped him to understand the businesses of the countless clientele. Brendan has been with PCS for 8 years and as the National Sales Manager and Director is in charge of a team of our sales professionals, spread over four states.

Glenn Small
Collections Manager

Glenn has been a valued member of staff of over thirteen years. Having spent many years as a commercial agent, has given him the skills to know the debt collection processed inside out. Often sharing his know how in weekly training sessions for all states, Glenn ensures all staff are compliant in their dealings and have the necessary skills to mimic his success. Glenn also specialises in Conflict resolution, settlement negotiations and both corporate and individual insolvency.


Amanda Smith
Partner & Field Agent Co-ordinator

In Amanda‘s 13 years with PCS, she has achieved many notable successes. The most recent of which, Amanda and her team have so far recovered several millions of dollars for a large bank with no sign of slowing down.  Amanda’s experience working for BOQ as a legal recoveries officer, coupled with her decade in debt collection and her managerial know-how has proved an invaluable combination and continues to turn out results time and time again.


Sarah Allen
Business Development Manager

Sarah has joined the PCS family almost a decade ago and has been a vital part in maintaining some of our ongoing customer relationships. A background in high-end customer service has prepared Sarah for the variety of challenges that comes with such a diverse client base. Having recently relocated to NSW, Sarah is enjoying discovering her new region and striving to make a difference by helping the local and regional businesses across her new state.

Lauren Byrnes
State Sales Manager - QLD

Lauren joined PCS in 2015 after taking a career break raising her 5 children. Lauren is an exceptional multi tasker and having started in a sales assistant role, her ability to think outside the square was soon realised and she rapidly became a full member of the Sales team as a Business Development Manager. Having a previous career in counselling she quickly proved her worth and moved from strength to strength. Lauren has recently been promoted to Queensland State Sales Manager where she now manages accounts ranging from SME’s to large corporations, specialising in Commercial debt across a wide range of industries.

Mario D’Astuto
Senior Field Agent

Mario has come to us with 18 years’ experience in the credit card and unsecured debt department at a major bank, 2 years as a mercantile agent and most recently having spent 5 years as a field commercial agent, Mario knows how to manage debtors. Mario’s proven results and calm, professional nature have given rise to a constant string of satisfied clients and resolved accounts. A highly skilled and valued member of the PCS team, Mario embodies what PCS is all about.
