What is skip tracing?
‘Skip tracing’ is the process of finding someone who has disappeared without intending to be found, or in other words ‘skipped’ town.
What is skip tracing in debt collection?
In debt collection, we are talking about a person who has ‘skipped town’ due to a debt they owe. An investigator is hired to attempt to find the person. When they are found, their information, and whereabouts, are passed onto the company or person that is attempting to find them so they can then be forced to pay their dues. Whilst in the past, this would have involved a physical investigation (think dark shady glasses and cars with blacked out windows), nowadays it is mostly done online via accessing databases – less movie-esque but a lot more effective!
Is it legal?
Yes, it is legal if you have the legal grounds to find the person in question. In the case of most debt collection incidents, the fact that the person owes money to an individual or company would give legal justification to investigate them and turn over personal information.

What about the possible costs?
Our payment structure is commission-based, meaning that we take a percentage of commission from the eventual amount that you recover, once the debt is paid. We don’t get paid until you do.

You submit your debt request online within minutes using our easy-to-use debt submission form. This is where you can provide all the details we need so that our eager debt collectors can get on with recovering your debts quickly.
We don’t charge any joining fee or have lock-in contracts – we don’t get paid until you do.
Step 2: Our search feelers get busy
Once we have the information we need, it’s showtime! We will then start carrying out an extensive online search, otherwise known as online skip tracing. We utilise an extensive paid database and external agencies to search people, records and businesses. Our advanced search method leaves no stone unturned.
Step 3: You get your answer
Once we’ve located the debtor, we will pass their personal information such as contact details and address on to you. You will then have the opportunity to decide how to use this information. You could choose to deal with them directly, or entrust your debt collection in the hands of the debt collection experts.
We understand that debt collection has changed in the last 20 years. That’s why we’ve tried and tested all the new-age methods to get you the result you want.
